Does anyone know of a program or a technique for making the old-style blue maps?

The closest I can recommend is grabbing a copy of Dungeoncrafter, use the TSR map elements, and set the color as close to the non-repro blue as you can (if you must get it 100% accurate, scan an old map and note the value for the blue in MSpaint or something, then use that to pick the pen color in DC).

Algolei at GT can do 'em real nice. He uses MSPaint. Maybe you could ask him for more details.

Thanks, guys - Dungeon Delver, let me go and try DungeonCrafter again, but I didn't seem to have enough TSR elements (a door, for example) to make it work. I'll try again... are there some more TSR-type tiles anywhere that you know of?

Actually, I DID find a set with several TSR-type tiles. It's working well!
Anybody interested in seeing some old style maps posted here?

I can't find the link right now, maybe I have it at home, but some guy put together a bunch of images and a grid that you use with ms-paint to make pretty authentic looking old school maps.
Basically, you open the grid template in paint, then drop the doors, pits, etc onto it, then use the existing tools to touch up. Looks rather good. I see if I can dig up the link tonight.

Drawn in straight MSpaint, touched up in Microsoft Publisher:
