I am in Daytona. So, that makes 3 of us in the Sunshine State). I occasionally head over to the old 1701 gaming store now called Sci Fi City in Orlando. Infact, I saw Arneson at the October fantasy festival they hold called "Geektober Fest" (now called something less descriptive) two or three years ago. Actually I had a really cool hard core 1E game with 4 other guys who showed up carrying thier 1E core books into the store ( everyone else had 3E and some other wacked out games I have never seen before). Anyhow it would be cool to play some time, let me know.

DD, where is this convention. I probably would DM a game, or at least show up and play.

Thats very do able. I'll let SKA know as well He also lives in Florida. PM me with the details and hopefully we can make it happen. Of course it would have to be a 1E game. Well, I'll tell you a little secret: at the past three conventions and at the September con (there's two a year), I run a 1e AD&D game. Consistently, I have had a player-overflow issue. That is to say, I've had more people sign up and try to join than I have had free slots! And I run an eight-player-max game. So there absolutely is some love for 1e AD&D out there. I have never had anyone turn their nose up at the rules, ever. I've had interesting discussions with folks who prefer older rules but it's always been friendly and they think well of AD&D 1e; much better interaction than I've ever had "on line" to be sure. But then everyone is an "internet tough guy" - sure we can say we'd kick a 3.5e fan in the throat, but at the end of the day you'd probably find yourself watching the game in the hotel bar w/him! Seriously, though, if you want to come and run a game of whatever, I'm certainly open to it. This coming convention will probably be the last AD&D game I run for a few cons, just because I want to keep it fresh. I'll probably run a Call of Cthulhu 3rd Edition at the following con next spring. Anyway, if you're serious about being interested, go here: www.hmgs-south.com - there's a forum I manage for RPGs in general plus all of the information about the convention.
