If you print it, they will come...
I like either form. Like rogueattorney, I print things off and stick them in a binder. But printed magazines are nice too. If you started one, I'd buy it.

Cool. You could probably get permission from some of the guys here to print some of the crap we have written over the past year or two. Particularly tricky rules and opinions on old school feel. Also, Foster has some excellent essay style writings that should be published (if he would agree). Hell, I'd def. buy it anyway. Its a great idea.

DD, if you'd like to talk with Tadashi about having DWP do the production/printing/etc. on this, he may be willing if you're able and willing to foot the cost. Feel free to email me to discuss further if you're interested.

Well that's the one thing I'd want to strive to avoid - rehashing stuff that's freely available on the web. That'd just be pointless and it would tend to hack off subscribers! However, it is salient that you point out things regarding "trickier rules" and so forth - one of the folks on DF is working with the usual gang of idiots (myself included) and Frank Mentzer to come up with a FAQ to present to Gary, to have him essentially fill in the blanks to answer a lot of those nagging questions about BtB AD&D rules that are hazy and don't merit a simple "Do as thou wilt" - because some DMs (myself included) would do as close to the book as possible!

'course that brings up my desired layout and so on and a whole host of things I want to work out beforehand... The biggest nagging question I have is "Can I come up with 64 pages a quarter of relevant AD&D stuff" that someone would pay $3 - $4 an issue for...hrm...

I don't think I'm going to do this. Not for a long, long time.
The simple reason is because right now DF is offering up Footprints #5, and they've got stuff in this issue by Jim Ward, Len Lakofka and Frank Mentzer.
It's all free, and didn't cost them a dime to produce.
I doubt seriously if I can compete against that.
Ah well. Maybe someday!

Heh. I threw in a high-level spell to the last Footprints - which means I'm about to be published alongside Jim Ward and Len Lakofka (don't believe Mr Mentzer's submitting any material to Footprints.)
I feel sort of humble.

A format you may want to consider which has a lower cost for production would be an actual newspaper format, these can often be printed by your local newspaper and cost less to print epecially if you are going the less graphics path to keep costs down. These paers can also be sent out at lower bulk mail cost due to it not needing an envelope or wrapper to be mailed in.
